The “Anything Goes” Museum in the final of the 2016 Children in Museums Award competition

06-05-2016

The “Anything Goes” Museum project has been nominated for the 2016 Children in Museums Award. The statuette is awarded by the European Museum Academy and Hands On! International Association of Children in Museums.

The competition was founded in 2011 to single out projects, actions and exhibitions prepared by museums and science centres for children under 14. The jury values both the innovative aspect of the given project and the tangible influence it may exert on museum practice on the local and international level.
The competition was divided into several stages.

The submission containing a description of the project, photographic documentation and additional materials, such as educational prints, exhibition plans and leaflets, served as a basis for jurors to select institutions they were going to visit.

In April, the Museum was visited by two members of the jury: Dr Claudia Haas and Dr Margherita Sani visited the exhibition The “Anything Goes” Museum and learned about the preparation of the exhibition by children and the Museum’s educational activity.
At the end of April, the jury nominated nine institutions, including the National Museum in Warsaw.

The award ceremony will take place on 9 June in Graz.
