Jubilee book published on the occasion of the sixtieth anniversary of a spectacular discovery of the Eastern Christian cathedral in Faras (1961) by the Polish archaeological mission, headed by Professor Kazimierz Michałowski. The volume contains, presented for the first time, photographic documentation of subsequent archeological campaigns conducted in Sudan and essays by eminent Polish scholars, who continue the work initiated by the discoveries in Faras.
