The National Museum in Warsaw will be creating a special online exhibition through the Digital NMW website and Europeana to celebrate the bicentennial of the death of Giacomo Quarenghi. The presentation on the Digital NMW will be an opportunity to showcase for a broad audience all the projects created by Quarenghi and held in the collection of the National Museum in Warsaw. Alongside the digital presentation will be a small exhibition of selected drawings accompanying a meeting with the public on March 2nd, 2017.

Giacomo Quarenghi – the Master of Neoclassicism. On the Bicentennial of his Death
The meeting with the public, held in the Gallery of 19th Century Art (in the Room of Enlightenment) at the National Museum in Warsaw, with a talk concerning the presented works of Giacomo Quarenghi, will take place on March 2nd, 2017 at 5 p.m. Piotr Kibort, curator of the architectural drawings in the Department of Prints and Drawings, will present a lecture about the selected drawings. The meeting will also show the designs for the alteration of the palace in Nieborów (Poland), Alexandre Palace in Tsarskoye Selo (Russia), as well as an interesting and humorous image of Quarenghi by Aleksander Orłowski. (The lecture will be given in Polish).
